World championship F16 at Travemünde Woche, Germany

The 2022 Worlds were held in Travemünde during the famous Travemünde Woche, 23-28 July. No better timing to join this great event with the F16 fleet.

A perfect sailing area, the best and most professional organization in a long time and a good race committee. There was absolutely nothing to complain about. Also, the Green Beach location was ideal for the Formula 16 class, with well sheltered boat moorings and quick access to the beach. Only the hope of moderate wind on the final day of the regatta was disappointed due to the calm weather system. The new world champions in Formula 16 have been chosen. With a very consistent performance, the only 15-year-old Thomas Proust from France and his crew Clement Martineau secured the title ahead of his compatriots Emmanuel le Chapelier and Eric le Bouedec on the new Goodall Design Viper. Bronze went to brothers Robin and Sander Mineur from the Netherlands. From calm to light wind to strong wind, the range of sailing conditions at the World Championships was extremely wide.
